113 days old, 16 weeks!

Our first week away from each other wasn't all that bad...Bryce loves his new sitter and did really well for her. He's currently fighting his first cold and fever....poor little man! Mom was looking for something to dress Bryce in this morning and decided it would be funny to put him in one of his old premie outfits to see his growth..........there is no doubt, this little man is getting bigger :) Enjoy!

The end of maternity leave...15 weeks

On April 23rd I was blessed with not only little Bryce, but also with 16 weeks of 'at home' time with my little man. Boy have I treasured the past 15 weeks of one-on-one time with my son. I've watched him grow from a 5.2lb newborn to a near 12.5 lb three a half month old. I've watched in amazement all his changes...how he recognises daddy with a smile when he comes through the front door, or how he can take his little hands and grab his monkey on his entertainment mat, and how his smiles have turned into sweet little giggles. I love the way he looks at me and knows I'm his mommy!
As I approach this last weekend of maternity leave, I am sad. I had prayed a million times over again that we'd sell our house...OR win the lottery (haha), but neither happened. I guess my time isn't up for helping children in the custody of the department of children services. So I can leave my house every day knowing that my baby boy knows that he is loved, and I must go to work and find foster homes for those children who are feeling unloved.
I pray for an easy transition for my little man! Fortunately we've been blessed to find the most wonderful sitter for Bryce. Her name is Lisa. Lisa has a 13 month old daughter, London! You can see it all over Lisa's face that she'll love Bryce and take care of him as if he's her own. Lisa will come to our house and Bryce will be able to be in the comfort of his own home. Daddy will be able to come see Bryce whenever he wants...which will definitely be a blessing for Bryce-the little man loves his daddy sooo much!!
Bryce has already brought so much JOY to our lives...the love that I feel for him is indescribable. I truly didn't know what it felt to love like this!!!
I love you Bryce Jaxon!
